Fun with Paper

Here are a couple more card designs in cut paper...my new obsession.

Don't know what's in that watering can, that robin looks like he's about to fall off his perch.
Maybe robin is just keeping his eye on that cat.

Sunshine

Well, the sun came out today!  Hollyhocks can't be far behind!
Here is a little cut paper design I was playing with this past weekend.  Seems too nice to sell as a card.  I think I might put it in a frame and hall it down to the gallery.

Now, back to sketching for the book I'm working on.  I will tell you more about this project when it's finished.

But, for now....Hollyhocks!

Photo op with Lois

Trying to get a good photo of myself and my good friend Lois.  Not the easiest thing to do.

I do not enjoy having my picture taken nor taking my own picture but it did seem like it was time to update my profile picture.  So..... i tried.

I now have dog hair from one end of me to the other.  Maybe I'll try again another day.

Here are the only photos that half turned out okay.

Lois had had enough by the third try.  So, just me.  At least my cute dimple in my cheek shows.

Larry looking out the window

While I'm happy to be working on a children's book.  So, happy I can't stand it.  Anyway, I have an art show coming up in July.  So, I have to paint pictures to sell once in awhile.  Here is a rather small piece I whipped up yesterday afternoon.

Watercolor on hot press paper.  Really a difficult to paint on.  But, I'm happy with it.
I named it "Larry looking out the Window" because my cousin has a big yellow cat named Larry.

Hello Mr. Robin

Just another design with cut paper.  I had thought that I would sell this card design at the little gallery I belong to, but...I like it too much.  So, into the portfolio it goes.

Now, I have to get busy working on illustrating a lovely children's book by Gretchen Leary, called "The Quiet Bear"

Balancing Act

Here is another cut paper illustration.  I'm calling it "Balancing Act".

This illustration reminds me of my daughter Meg, when she was little.  She didn't try balancing teapots and cups on her head, but if she had, she would have been wonderful at it.  We did have a big yellow cat named Roger and he was very talented.

On another subject, I noticed that 31 people came to look at my blog today.  Amazing, simply amazing.  But, why don't you folks leave me messages or comments?  I would answer you.  Really I would.

Happy

I'm playing around with cut paper again, and listening to "Happy" by Pharrell Williams.  Boy, that song is catchy.  Just tapping my toe and being creative.  Anyway, this is what happened.  I was going to make her dancing but she just looked like she wanted to jump rope.

Now I have to clean up this mess I've made.  Cut paper is fun but messy.
