Getting Back to Business

Well, I will admit I have really had my head in the clouds over this new grandson.  It's almost all I can think about.  But... I do have to get back to my artwork.  At least a little bit.

Here are a couple new cut paper cards I made for the gallery.  They are on display now.

Fairly simple designs, but lovely none the less.  Only $6.00 each at Gallery Calapooia.  Each is an original piece of art.  What a bargain!

Today, I opened the local newspaper to find a wonderful story with photo of me!  All about the book signing tomorrow night for Detective Punybutmighty and the case of the Drool Monster, by Cheri Partain.  Very nice story in the Albany Democrat-Herald, if I do say so myself.  Here is the photo they ran.
I wish I had combed my hair.  But, that's they way it goes.  You can see all the illustrations from the book scattered out in front of me.

Okay, now back to thinking about my grandson, Phillip.  He really is wonderful!

Cat and Mouse

Don't you wonder what that cat is thinking.  Oh wait, I think I know.  But, I like to think that they are going to make friends.  A stretch, I know.
This is another cut paper piece I created for my August show coming up in August at Gallery Calapooia.  I suppose I should paint a few watercolor paintings as well.  Just to keep my hand in.
If you didn't see the little mouse, he is sitting on top of the yarn ball.  Biding his time.

Oh, by the way.  No grand baby yet.  We're all still waiting.

Reading in Bed

One of my favorite things to do, is reading in bed.

This is a new cut paper illustration of a little boy reading in his nice big comfortable bed.  I tossed around some other fun things that I thought a little boy might take to bed with him.  At least this is what my little boy used to do.
I'm thinking a lot about little boys lately because I have a grandson on the way.  Due any day now.  I hope he likes to read in bed...just like his grandma!

$50.00 and Under !!!

Tonight in downtown Albany, Oregon is the Wine Walk.  There will be a winery serving samples in Gallery Calapooia, so don't miss it!  The Wine Walk is an event, so you do have to pay to got on the walk.  But, I understand it is well worth it.

Also, the gallery will have many things for sale for under $50.00 so stop by and take a peek.  If you can't make it to the Wine Walk , come by another day.  Lots of other wonderful artwork will still be there.  Well, maybe not.

Here is a sample of a few of my $50.00 or under items.
Yellow Flowers- cut paper  I think this is $50.00 or it might be $45.00 I can't remember.  Framed original art.  Amazing!  If I do say so myself.

And of coarse...my book!   Detective Punybutmighty available for purchase at the gallery...only $10.00 and signed by the illustrator!  What a bargain!!!
